Next up is the WeeGo glass bottle from Babylife. I want to take a second to give some background information on Babylife. Babylife was founded by Pam Marcus (a pediatric physical therapist) and Daren Edward Joy (an integrative designer). Their mission is to provide "developmentally appriopriate and eco- friendly baby products"(www.gobabylife.com). I love this because it follows my own mission for Ask Miss Mommy and the products I try to review.
The Weego glass bottle is a 9 oz. bottle with a stylish silicone sleeve. It comes in six fun colors: pink, raspberry, orange, sky, yellow and ocean. The nipple is made out of silicone as well. Currently the Babylife site offers one nipple option that comes with the bottle (Stage 2, 3-6 month). The nipple is made by a French company and Babylife will soon offer other flow options from this company. A standard sized nipple from Evenflo, Dr. Brown's or NUK will also work.
I like the look and feel of this bottle. It feels very durable and the sleeve makes it easier to grip. The 9 oz size was too big for us since Boo only takes 4 oz at a time. She was able to hold it independently even with the added weight of a beverage. She also banged it around a lot and I wasn't worried about it breaking or chipping. I found it easy to clean. The flow of the nipple seems accurately placed at 3-6 months and for a bit too slow for Boo at 12 months.
Currently the bottle is offered in the 9 oz size but will also soon be available in 4 oz. The washing instructions are hand wash for the cap and ring and sanitizing of the bottle and sleeve initially and then it can be put in the dishwasher. All the components of this bottle are 100% non toxic and are Bisphenol A, phthalate, PVC and polycarbonate-free. I am including a picture of the packing because Babylife is "committed to low-impact, minimal packaging". I was VERY impressed at the careful and neat YET very minimal packaging.
This bottle retails for $18.00. Frankly a hefty price tag but the cost is due to the high quality of materials used and the cost of using silicone instead of plastic. Babylife also offers clothing and the Comfort and Joy teether (available soon). They have additional information on their site about their products and use of the bottle.

i have to say i like the concept of this bottle but was not impressed with it. not only is it really bulky, but you can't take the sleev on and off to clean under the glass which does still get dirty. Being a glass enthusiast i was excited about trying it and then bumbed when we paid $18 for it. anyway, at least they tried.
I don't know what the other mommy was talking about. I LOVE this bottle. First I feel so much better that my child is not using plastic. I realize that they make BPA free plastic and we all think it is good. And while I agree it's much better, plastic was supposed to be safe and this was only a couple of years ago!! I also love the silicone sleeve because we have actually dropped the bottle and have had nothing happen to it! Pure genius!!! I just plop mine in the dishwasher where it gets sterilized and all is right with the world. Worth every penny!!!!!
